ACHARYA

YOGA AND  SOUND HEALING

HOW IT ALL BEGAN ?

We met in a yoga class—of course.

Sailesh began the class with a mantra , and—well—Ioana’s heart basically levitated.. (Curious, we’ll tell you the full story when we meet in person—it involves mantras, laughter, and maybe a little magic.)

From that first moment, something clicked. We quickly realized we weren’t just sharing a mat—we were sharing a deeper vision: to create a space of devotion, healing, and community. A space where yoga isn’t something you do, it’s something you live.

We imagined a place where people could come as they are—after a long trek, a long week, or a long search—and be welcomed into presence. A place rooted in sacred practice, but never too serious to laugh. Grounded in ancient wisdom, yet alive with real human connection.

Acharya Yoga was born out of that shared dream.

What We Believe Founded in Pokhara, Nepal, Acharya Yoga blends the ancient teachings of yoga with sound healing, nature, and daily rituals of presence. The word Acharya means “one who teaches by living the path.” It’s not about gurus or guruspeak. We believe the true teacher is the one within—and everything we offer is designed to help you reconnect with that wisdom. Whether you join us for a retreat, a trek, a sound healing journey, or just a cup of tea and kirtan on the terrace—you are welcome in this space. It’s a space built from love, lived experience, and a shared belief that healing happens when we slow down, tune in, and lots of laughter!

About

Meet Sailesh

Founder, Vibe Curator & Yogic Guide

The heart behind Acharya Yoga, Sailesh is our lead yoga teacher, sound bowl wizard, and the one who makes sure the energy flows (even when the Wi-Fi doesn’t). With over a decade of experience, he weaves ancient wisdom into every class, trek, and session—while keeping the schedule sacred and the vibe just right. When he’s not guiding yoga or playing the bowls, he’s probably making you laugh, teaching pranayama under a tree, or planning your next unforgettable retreat.

I’m Sailesh, founder of Acharya Yoga—a space born from my devotion to inner peace, sacred wisdom, and the healing power of nature. My path has been guided by many masters, but also by silence, stillness, and the unseen teacher within. My first teachers were my parents—my father, a traditional shaman, who taught me to listen to the elements, to heal with herbs and spirit, and to honor the deep intelligence of nature. My mother shared with me the devotional practices of prayer, mantra, and reverence for life. As a young seeker, I wandered to temples, forests, and rivers—sitting with sadhus, saints, and sages. I lived with an Aghori master who revealed to me the raw, mystical teachings of Shiva and Shakti. Later, other gurus guided me into the practices of kriya yoga, energy work, and deep states of meditation. From sacred places across Nepal and India, I absorbed the timeless energy of the Himalayan path. In Buddhist monasteries, I learned the art of silence through Vipassana, and touched a deep inner stillness in places like Bodh Gaya and Sarnath—where Buddha walked and taught. Through blessings, I received the gift of Reiki and the sacred science of sound healing. With singing bowls, breath, and vibration, I learned to restore balance—not only in the body, but in the spirit. My path also led me to the meditative language of painting and the sacred sound of the flute, studying under the legendary Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Acharya Yoga is the thread that brings it all together—a space to walk gently beside others, holding space for their healing, growth, and awakening. I believe the most powerful teaching is not found in words, but in presence. My purpose is to serve that inner teacher in each of us. Let’s walk this path—heart to heart, breath by breath.

" I’ve always been a seeker. Since I was little, I’ve felt the pull to explore—both the world around me and the world within. My journey began with the outer world: I traveled, wandered, studied, and eventually dove headfirst into the world of business. I worked in both big corporations and scrappy startups, coached people on building careers, and even built a few things myself. On paper, it looked like success—but something inside me stayed restless. The real turning point came when I realized that no amount of chasing outward could satisfy the quiet call inward. And so began a different kind of journey—one with no destination, no title, no finish line. Just presence, practice, and a deeper kind of fulfillment. Yoga, breathwork, and self-inquiry became part of my path—but for me, nothing resonated quite like devotion. The simplicity of it. The heart of it. Joining Sailesh in co-creating Acharya Yoga wasn’t a decision—it was a full-body yes. A way to bring together everything I’ve learned, everything I love, and everything I still long to explore. And the journey? It’s just getting started. When I’m not on the mat, I’m usually drinking tea, doodling new retreat ideas, coaching people in designing their career on purpose, painting, or asking Sailesh to play the flute 😅
